this love affair is starting to feel like a locally aggressive tumour,

you cut it off, and it grows back, cut it off, grows back again.

not love, or affection itself, just the remains of longing, or his presence in my life itself. 

so i am letting it be, maybe it will necrose, outlive its blood supply, and die its own natural death as it were.
