i think my favourite overall is still 'safety not guaranteed' - so original, quirky enough yet heartwarming and romantic still, completely captivating. close second would be damsels in distress.

from mainstream releases i gotta say christopher nolan gets me every time, and 'the dark knight rises' was amazing. 

not a bad year for movies, 2012, not bad at all - especially from the indie crowd. some really fabulous films.
